Kitchen Tips

  • Any flavorful vinegar can be used in place of the white wine vinegar. I’ve also used Tarragon vinegar and rice wine vinegar and it’s always delicious.
  • One of the keys to this broccoli salad is allowing time for the vegetables to soak up the dressing. If you serve it immediately, the vegetables may end up sitting in a pool of dressing.
  • If you’d like to reduce the calorie count for this recipe, use less bacon or substitute with turkey bacon. You may also safely reduce the sugar by half.

How to Make Broccoli Salad

  1. First, cook the bacon. Drain, dice, and set it aside.
  2. In a medium bowl combine dressing ingredients using a whisk.
  3. Cut the broccoli into bite-sized pieces and place into a large bowl.

If you have an Air Fryer you can cut your Bacon into lardons & cook a fairly large amount at one time without constant stirring etc. It uses no extra fats & cooks unattended. I do a whole pound of extra thick bacon at one time & store it in freezer! You can never have too much bacon!!!!

I loooooove broccoli salad, and this one sounds like a real winner… especially with the garlic and onion jack cheese. (I didn’t even know such a thing existed, but now that I do, I must have it!) The dried dill and tarragon vinegar sound like wonderful additions, too.

Those changes look awesome, Amanda! Yum! I am not a big fan of mustard in cold salads like this … but given that my recipe today was roasted broccoli with lemon and mustard, I do like that combo!
