If you have never heard of the Pioneer Woman, aka Ree Drummond, what rock have you been living under?
Just kidding.
Most everyone knows who America's favorite Food Network sweetheart is. In fact, she is my favorite cook in the whole world (besides Julia Child) and she has been ever since she came on the scene many, many years ago.
The first time I ever heard of The Pioneer Woman was in our homeschool group. I had just started experimenting with cooking home-cooked meals in the kitchen and one of my friends suggested I check her blog out. I think this was in 2009. I immediately fell head over heels in love with her and her writing style.
The best part is that her food was real to me. It was easy to make, loved by all and had ingredients I could pronounce. One of my favorite recipes is the Pioneer Woman Lemon Bars.
Since that time, I have made many of her dishes and my family has done nothing but RAVE about how delicious everything tastes.
Pioneer Woman Cookbooks
Of course, if you really want to understand her way of cooking, just grab any one of her five cookbooks (and yes — I own them all) and get cooking just like her.
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks: The New Frontier (newest cookbook)
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Come and Get it (My Favorite Cookbook)
- The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Food From My Frontier
- The Pioneer Woman: Recipes from an Accidental Country Girl
Of course, her website is chocked full of delicious recipes! The best thing though, if you want to know how her food tastes, is to take a visit to Pawhuska, OK, the hometown of the Pioneer Woman. Have breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the Mercantile.
But don't forget to get pizza at P-Town Pizza. I honestly think it is time for me to go back and have another visit to Pawhuska. Since I visited there last year, they have opened an ice cream shop, a steak house, and more. I need another Pioneer Woman fix!
Pioneer Woman Kitchenware
Of course, if you know anything about Ree Drummond, you know she loves her kitchenware and I own a lot of it. Every year, the family loads me up at birthdays, Christmas, Valentine's Day, and more with all her cool kitchen gadgets and such.
